Yar’Adua mourns Awoniyi - The Tide

President Umaru Yar’Adua Friday expressed deep sorrow over the death of the ACF Chairman, Chief Sunday Awoniyi.

He recalled the elder statesman’s contributions to the growth of the Federal Public Service, where he rose to the rank of permanents secretary.

“Yar’Adua also recalled Awoniyi’s active participation in party politics and his abiding faith in a united and prosperous Nigeria.”

The President’s tribute was conveyed in a statement in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Communications, Mr. Segun Adeniyi. Full Story
